Arthour from California, USA was suffering from neck pain as well as right arm pain, numbness and tingling for 8 years. Our AIMIS Spine member Dr. Jeffrey Coe from California (USA) successfully performed microsurgical procedure that involved removal of a damaged disk at the C5-6 level and replacing it with an artificial cervical disk device, the M6-C. This advanced cervical disc replacement device is not available for implantation in the USA at this time (outside of a limited clinical trial); thus Dr. Coe performs surgery on patients who would benefit from the use of this this advanced device, M6-C at AIMIS facility in Europe, Cyprus.

He felt like he had no other option than to find a solution to his problem and through his research he discovered Dr. Schwartz who diagnosed a 2-Disc Replacement solution. Since this solution was not offered in the USA it was recommended by Dr. Schwartz to visit the AIMIS facility in Cyprus where the proper solution was given to Damion and he can now return back to doing what he does best.
Mandee from Spokane, Washington, had been suffering for 10 years with her back problem. It began when she lifted her 2 year old son from the floor and tore her disc. At this stage she was not willing to have surgery and chose conservative therapy to manage her pain. As time progressed the disc continued to degenerate until she had a bad reoccurrence of her symptoms and sort help in the form of AIMIS member surgeon Dr Tohmeh. After having her condition evaluated, Mandee, discussed her options with Dr Tohmeh and wanted to have the surgery that was unavailable in the US as this was her best option. After further discussions with Dr Tohmeh and undertaking her own extensive research, Mandee decided to come to AIMIS for surgery in order to allow her a faster recovery time. Mandee found the AIMIS staff to be very helpful and the AIMIS experience easy, with help every step of the way. She was impressed by the facilities cleanliness and modern feel, which she describes as not looking like a hospital. After an overnight, following her surgery, Mandee was mobile and discharged the next day. Her research had informed her with certain surgeries for her condition she would unable to function normally for 6-8 weeks, but after her surgery with Dr Tohmeh and AIMIS she was able to walk out of the hospital and, 1 week post-op, she wasn’t taking extensive pain medication and was able enjoy the grounds of the hotel during her recuperation.

The AIMIS experience gave not just Jennifer her life back but her entire family, allowing them to resume their normal life of work, family and friends. Their experience "has been one of the best [they] have ever had. AIMIS staff, the hospital staff, the hospital itself was just tremendous." They believe it is a world class hospital, with world class people, so there should be no concerns in quality of care for other patients who seek future care.

Troy and Kalie, from the United States, came to AIMIS Spine to fins treatment for Troy who suffered a back injury when he was 19 and wrestling in college. Troy had surgery to correct the problem and continued wrestling until he, unfortunately, injured his back again. Following 5 years of pain, which stopped all of his physical activities, Troy was told he needed another surgery. His insurance denied him a TDR (total disc replacement) and would only cover surgery for fusion but Troy’s physicians told him he was too young for fusion. Troy then met Dr. Tohmeh, one of AIMIS Spine’s founding member surgeons, who told him about AIMIS and explained the AIMIS process to him which provided Troy with a solution. Troy was also introduced to past patients who relieved his concerns with travelling to a foreign country. Troy has had many surgeries on his knee and back and, in comparison, he was delighted by the care and quality offered by AIMIS.
Bernard is a patient from the United States who came to AIMIS Spine because he was suffering from degenerative disc disease (DDD) in his cervical spine. He had a car accident many years ago which, at the time, caused no problems but in recent years Bernard started having numbness in his arms. After being diagnosed with DDD, which was causing compression of his spinal cord, he was given the option of having fusion in the USA. Bernard heard about AIMIS Spine, as an option, through Dr. Vincent and decided to research AIMIS. He was excited to find AIMIS offered a total disc replacement as an alternative to fusion, with the added benefits associated with minimally invasive spine surgery. With this in mind and after his extensive research, Bernard decided it was a “no brainer” to come to Cyprus for surgery. Both Bernard and Judith enjoyed their time with AIMIS Spine and the AIMIS personnel, who looked after them throughout their stay.
Christine, from Washington State USA, had a spinal condition which could not be treated in America. In order to receive the treatment she needed she turned to AIMIS Spine. She did research on the internet and, after coming to Cyprus, she believed the internet was not able to do AIMIS justice as her experience was exceptional. All her ground arrangements, in Cyprus, were made by AIMIS who also provided information and assistance to assist with all the arrangements for her surgery. Christine is very glad she came to AIMIS to have her surgery done, with pre-operative tests and surgery going very smoothly and being able to walk shortly after surgery. Her recovery was brilliant with help from all staff involved, within AIMIS and the hotel. Christine enjoyed her experience so much she was sad to leave Cyprus and one day would like to bring her family back to visit Cyprus on vacation.
Dr. Charles is a Chiropractor practicing in the United Arab Emirates. He suffered spinal problem from his teenage years, following a severe motorcycle accident, and had degenerative disc disease for which he underwent a 3 level XLIF in Cyprus with AIMIS Spine. Dr Charles heard about AIMIS through a neurosurgical colleague in London who informed him about the state of the art technology and techniques being used by the American surgeons in Cyprus. Dr Charles waited for such a procedure as he knew the rehabilitation period would be shorter because of the approach. This was very important to him as he is still able to perform his physically demanding occupation. His experience with AIMIS Spine was ‘very easy, very relaxing, and very very comfortable’ and he was impressed with the brand new state of the art facility, which he stated is better than any he has seen. Dr Charles was so delighted with his treatment and care that he has and will continue to send his patients here for spinal surgery.
Benjamin is a Canadian working in Dubai, Arab Emirates. He came to AIMIS Spine because he was suffering from Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) with chronic back pain. He came to AIMIS after being thoroughly satisfied with his research in AIMIS: the procedures they perform, the high caliber of surgeons and state of the art facilities.
